My quick fix go to appetizers are perfect for during the holidays, when you need tasty recipes that look impressive but there’s no sweat to getting them done. Who has time to slave in the kitchen, this is the time of year to enjoy family and friends without over working.Food is a huge part of the holiday season, and when your food matches the holiday? Well that’s all the more fun and special! Here are some pretty and festive appetizers and side dishes to decorate your table with for the Holiday season. I love holiday food, what’s not to love when it comes to appetizers and  yummy food to snack on, especially around the holidays. These Appetizers are easy, delicious and best enjoyed with a festive cocktail like my last post Cranberry Ombre Sparkler Cocktail. When it comes to Christmas, I find I’m always on the lookout for easy snack recipes and party foods. To be honest, party food always catches my eye anyway.

Antipasto Skewers

Here is a quick and beautiful way to serve Antipasto without much planning or shopping ahead.. These tiny morsels of goodness are usually found in every Italian refrigerator. The wooden skewers pack up easily for an outdoor picnic and present beautifully for an elegant cocktail party. My kids love these Antipasto Skewers so much that they ask for extras to take to school for lunch. You can be sure they will gobble up these babies, each piece is full of flavor and texture. You can even add more flavor by drizzling sweet balsamic glaze on top of each skewer.Use your imagination when creating them.  I used cheese tortellini pasta, grape tomatoes, salami (folded), fresh basil leaves, marinated mini mozzarella balls, black Kalamata olives.  Make sure you follow the same pattern when skewering so that they look nice and in pattern that’s what so cute about them. They will look more uniform and prettier when piled on top of each other.  I used a smaller 9″ wooden skewer vs a 12″ wooden skewer.

Pomegranate and Cranberry Bruschetta

I absolutely love this Pomegranate and Cranberry Bruschetta recipe which is perfect appetizer for Christmas holiday party. Actually I made this for Thanksgiving and they were so scrumptious I will be making again for Christmas!

The recipe literally bursts with vibrant flavor! Plus it’s so versatile; in fact, you can serve the relish on top of a block of cream cheese and eat with crackers. Or, substitute cream cheese on the crostini with a slice of brie and prosciutto. You could even add a bit of olive oil, salt and vinegar to about 1/4 cup of relish for an amazing salad dressing. The possibilities are endless!

watermelon trees

These watermelon trees are the perfect raw treat to take any function, especially at Christmas time.

Frankly they’re so impressive, and SO quick and easy, that they’re worth making anytime you can get your hands on some fresh and juicy watermelon.Have fun creating these yummy Holiday Appetizers and don’t forget to let me know how you liked them?

Happy Holidays!
