Salmon Burgers with Homemade Tartar Sauce:
Okay! Seriously, I’m not big on watching football games and as a matter of fact, my friends laugh at me that I can’t name 5 of the top football players. Oh well, you can’t know everything!
But what I do know, for almost everyone, non-sports fans included, Super Bowl Sunday is one of the great annual excuses for epic, marathon grubbing. To prep for game day, I gathered a few of my favorite recipes. What spread would be complete without chicken wings then you can add a little variety to the menu with Hamburger, Salmon burgers (keep it lite) and homemade potatoes chips all washed down with a great Skinny Watermelon Cocktail. Hey it’s Game Day!

4 pre-made Salmon Burgers from Trader Joe’s
1/2 teaspoon seasoning salt
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
1 small white onion (thinly sliced)
4 hamburger buns or English muffins (lightly toasted)
Lettuce and tomatoes (garnish)
1 tablespoon Olive oil
Homemade Tartar Sauce Ingredients:
2 tablespoons mayonnaise
1 teaspoon mustard
1/4 cup lemon juice
dash hot sauce
salt and pepper to taste
Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. When the oil is hot, add the sliced onions and cook for 5 minutes. Season the Salmon patties with seasoning salt and pepper. Remove the cooked onions from skillet and set aside add the Salmon patties and cook about 5 minutes each side, or until nicely browned. In a small bowl mix the mayonnaise, mustard, lemon juice, hot sauce, salt and pepper. Use sauce for the patties. Assemble the Salmon burgers with homemade tartar sauce on buns add lettuce,tomatoes, salmon patties, grilled onions, top with tartar sauce and bun! Yum!
