Spring is in the Air…
Remember…set your clocks ahead one hour Saturday night before going to bed. Meditate on your intentions, dream the possibilities and make it happen!
I love the word “forward.” My definition of forward is to move in a positive direction toward your goals. Yeah Baby!
We had a “rain and hail” storm here in the Valley on Friday yet I can still smell spring is in the air. This Sunday, March 10th at 2am, the world gets a little brighter but we all lose an hour of sleep. Yikes! I don’t get enough sleep as it is! So yes, many of us can and should celebrate the fact that darkness will no longer control our mood swings. But losing that hour, dang…we all really could’ve used that extra time. Right?! The good news: it will stay lighter longer for the kids to play outside. I love when my kids play outside making up games as they go instead of watching the computer, iPad or playing video games. In the Kilmer household, computer and electronics are reserved only for the weekends…when Mom needs to sleep in!
In honor of lost time, I figured why not go for a Weekend Cocktail to celebrate the arrival of Spring!
Ali in the Valley
Dirty Vodka Martini
1/2 cup premium vodka (Belvedere or Kettle One are great)
4 teaspoons olive juice
3 blue cheese stuffed olives (on a toothpick)
Place ice to the brim of your martini glass and top off with ice cold water. Let glass chill while you make the martini. Pour vodka and olive juice in a martini shaker. Drop in about 10 ice cubes and put the top on the shaker. Shake the martini shaker hard and quickly for about 10-15 seconds. Pour the ice water out of the martini glass and pour the vodka martini into the glass. Drop the toothpick with olives into the martini and serve.
