We’re in the midst of fall, and even though it still feels like summer in LA, it’s time to start looking at fall fashion! Being that we’ve just passed Fashion Month and NYFW, I wanted to talk about five fun trends you’ll be seeing and wearing over the next few months. Of course, moody florals and trench coats will reign supreme as they do each fall, but I’m highlighting the punchy wearable trends that will set you apart from the crowd. From bold prints to energetic dress silhouettes, you’ll want to invest in one or all of these trends for pumpkin-spice latte season.
Animal print is still going strong and wild this season. Not only is leopard still, and will always be trending, we’re starting to incorporate zebra and snake prints to keep things fresh. Animal print can work as a neutral in an accessory, like a leopard print clutch, that can bring excitement to a minimal outfit or you can incorporate a color print into a fun and bright outfit. Either way, there’s tons of ways you can wear animal print, which will work with just about anything.

This ultra-feminine dress silhouette is taking over fall. We’re seeing big dresses float down the runway ethereally and stealing our attention. Like the flashy neon trend that popped up over spring and summer 2019, poufy dresses are loud and come with big energy. You can wear these dresses in darker fall prints, beautifully sheer chiffon, or even brightly colored confections, just make to sure to add one to your closet since you can eat as much as you want while you’re wearing one and no one will notice!
Maybe we were a little inspired by Katie Holmes’ matching bra and cardi breakup outfit, but we’re loving the one-shoulder trend this season. Last year, it was all about the off-the-shoulder tops and dresses. This year, we’re keeping it seductive with just one shoulder. Whether you’re wearing it as a casual off-the-shoulder sweater or a sleek one-shoulder dress, this neckline will give you casual “oh I just threw this on” vibes.
Prada started the trend with a gorgeous plush satin headband and we’re seeing it come to life this season. Just like we’ve been seeing pearly hair clips, headbands are an extension of the 90’s hair accessories trend. Channel your inner Blair Waldorf and snap on that headband, which will work with just about any outfit. Pair it with some colorful earrings or even sunglasses to give it a modern take.
The ever-classic fall print will be popular this season, but you’ll be seeing it in all kinds of colors and clothing items, from coats to suiting. On runways, we’ve seen it take form in everything from big buffalo checks to tartan. It’s a print that’s just as versatile and lovely as animal print and can be as fun or neutral as you want.
