Have you ever heard of a Fig & Melon Martini? Me neither…so I surfed the web looking for something creative to stir up as a wicked potion and here it is. Yes, I know I’m stretching with the ingredients on this, but figs are in such abundance in my backyard and I’m always looking for new ways to use them. I know not everyone loves figs, but I do…and maybe you would too if you got to drink them.
Can you feel fall approaching? It’s time to start transitioning from summer to fall and I can’t think of a better way than a festive cocktail. This Fig & Melon Martini perfectly blends the taste of sweet and tart and is oh so refreshing. If you’re open to trying something new, then give this cocktail a try — it’s simple to make and you won’t be disappointed. Here’s my wicked potion creation of a Fig & Melon Martini!
Thank God It’s Friday!

1.5 ounces Ketel One Vodka
1.5 ounces fig & cantaloupe purée
0.5 ounce Cointreau
1 teaspoon lemon juice
1 teaspoon agave or maple syrup
Puree 4 sliced figs and 1/8 of a ripe cantaloupe with 2 tablespoons of water in a blender or a food processor.
In a cocktail shaker filled halfway with ice, add all the ingredients, including the cantaloupe puree. Shake until everything is combined and icy cold.
Strain the mixture into a slightly chilled martini glass and garnish with a thin slice of melon threaded onto a wooden skewer around a half slice of ripe fig.
