Fall is moving pretty quickly, the fact that we are already more than halfway through October is blowing my mind! With time moving so fast, I have a few more Halloween-ey activities I am dying to do in LA before we hit winter time!
Here are a few things you can do to feel the fall vibes in LA! I haven’t done all of these yet but the ones I haven’t are at the top of my list 😉
Halloweentime at Disneyland is something I’ve been dying to go to, luckily for me this year, I got to go on a double date to celebrate my friend Dagny’s birthday there! They have lots of little changes around the park for fall, including hundreds of pumpkins being added to the Main Street. The Haunted Mansion being changed to The Nightmare Before Christmas. Villains walking around the park, and hundreds of pumpkin flavored treats. My personal favorite was the Pumpkin Spice Beignets in the New Orleans!
Beware if you want a picture with the huge Mickey Jack-o-lantern, there will be a line and it will be long.
Tip: If you will want Halloween themed ears and or shirts, it’s best to purchase them beforehand since it will not be as costly as in the park. I got both my ears and t-shirt from Amazon. The Halloween Minnie ears were a third of the price I would’ve paid in the park and I cut the Halloween Minnie t-shirt to fit the way I liked 😉
Better look at my $12 Amazon ears 😉
Right before the Halloween Villain Show that was projected on the castle!
2. Halloween Horror Nights at Universal Studios
Halloween Horror Nights, at Universal is a must for any Angeleno that loves scary movies. They have mazes and monsters around the park just waiting to give you a fright! I have not personally been to Horror Nights because I do not like scary movies and would probably cry if a monster approached me. But like I said, if you’re into the scary parts of Halloweentime, this is a must-see! Alison’s daughter Aliyah actually went with her friends last weekend and had a blast!
Here are some pictures from her time there!

3. Nights of the Jack – Calabasas
Nights of Jack is something I have been dying to go to, and plan to do before Halloween! Described as a Halloween Wonderland, this event features hundreds of lit intricately hand carved pumpkins. There is live pumpkin carving, food trucks, and even a “Spookeasy Bar” which serves Halloween themed cocktails!
It’s perfect for a date night, or the whole family!
4. Visit a pumpkin patch
I actually have not done this yet, this year which makes me want to kick myself. Will be doing it soon. Yes you can get your pumpkins at the grocery store, but it’s so nice to actually be in a pumpkin patch. There’s nowhere that feels more like fall, or makes for a better fall Instagram backdrop 😉
My favorite pumpkin patch my mother and I came across while driving the PCH through Malibu in the fall a couple of years ago!
5. Walk around your neighborhood
This is actually one of my favorite things to do in the fall time, as it gets cool enough to actually be outside in Southern California. It’s so nice to just walk outside and watch the fall leaves turn colors. I think it can be easy to forget when trying to get in all of our fall festivities, that we have something special right outside our door, that won’t cost any money, or even a lot of time. I find it so relaxing and it’s a great time for introspection as you watch the stillness of the trees, and hear the birds chirping above. You also get a great look at all of your neighbors’ fall decorations!
I hope this list is helpful when planning the rest of your Halloween-ey activities 🤗. Let us know if you try any of them and what you think!
Also if we missed any activities that you particularly enjoyed, please share it in the comments! I’d love to hear your ideas 🎃
