Formal Holiday Table Setting:
It’s not to often that I get to pull out all my good china and set a formal table with two children and my clumsy husband who somehow or another breaks all my good crystal. At this point, I think my husband has replaced most of the broken crystal and now I’m not that attached to it at all anymore, anyway! It’s just material things and once you have kids, dogs and really crazy lifestyle you don’t worry about it much anymore. Now it’s about using your good stuff as much as possible so it doesn’t collect dust! At Thanksgiving and Christmas, I always use all my good china and set a beautiful formal table for the holidays! Whomever is cleaning up after dinner doesn’t like it much because you gotta wash everything by hand! Here’s a simple but elegant layout for your Christmas dinner. The day of, set the table in the morning so that it’s done before your guests arrive and you’re not scrambling. Right before your guests arrive – dim the lights, light some candles, and pour yourself a glass of wine…in your good crystal!
